Early Care & Education

Services for Young Children and Their Parents

There are over 76,000 young children living in Montgomery County. Early Care and Education (ECE) refers to a full range of programs that provide care, education and support to these children from birth to age 5.

These programs promote school readiness, nurture healthy development and strengthen families. Services include child care, local Infants and Toddlers Programs, Early Head Start/Head Start, Family Support Centers, home visiting services, early literacy programs, and health and mental health services.
