JSSA Holocaust Survivor Services and Family Support

JSSA and the Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany (Claims Conference) provide multiple services for Holocaust survivors living independently in the community. These services are funded through grants* from the Claims Conference, matching funds from JSSA, assistance from the Jewish Federation of Greater Washington and donations from the Jewish community of greater Washington. Eligible Holocaust survivor applicants may receive the following services: • Emergency financial assistance • Counseling/mental health therapy • Claims assistance • Ongoing social work services • Meals on Wheels (Kosher meals delivered to your home) • Escorted transportation to medical appointments • Homemaker assistance • Personal care assistance • Emergency call system in your home *Grant-Subsidized Eligibility Requirements Survivors must have medical concerns and limited financial resources to receive grant-subsidized JSSA services. Please note that all services are available on a full-fee basis for survivors without limited financial resources.
