Preventing Homelessness: Housing Stabilization

One of the highest priorities of Bethesda Cares is to prevent homelessness in the first place. Through our eviction/utility shut-off prevention program, we assist county wide keeping area residents safe in their homes with utilities turned on. As part of a large network of providers who work together, we partner to package grant assistance to county residents. The grants are directed to the landlord/utility company and assistance is available once a year from time of last receipt of a grant. In addition, the social worker reviews the requests for a plan to maintain housing once the client comes through the crisis.
