STRIVE for Customer Service

Our signature, intense, three week attitudinal change and job preparation program serves DC residents who often have multiple barriers to gainful employment. For three weeks, five days a week, 9 AM to 3 PM, participants “work” in a simulated job site where they must be on-time, perform tasks, be part of a team, and accept orders and criticism. Participants learn how to dress, speak and behave in a workplace and how to prepare resumes, fill out job applications, interview successfully, and compete for jobs in Washington DC’s growing hospitality and customer service sectors. Our program has evolved to include key components such as skills training; industry certifications; job placement assistance; career development emphasizing networking; and two years of career advancement support. Case Management is an integral component of all STRIVE DC’s programs.

6th grade or higher education level, no criminal background. DC, MD and VA residents
