Crossroads

The Crossroads Program provides counseling, mentoring, case management and positive youth development programming that ranges from youth groups, skill-building workshops to SSL opportunities. Qualified persons within Montgomery County include those with low to moderate incomes, especially women and teens, who suffer from trauma, anger management, acculturation difficulties, or emotional disorders that make their transition to life in the US more difficult. The target populations are South Asian, Middle Eastern, and North/West/East African communities, which are currently underserved by existing programs within the County. The Crossroads Program is unique because it provides special, focused assistance to underserved communities in crisis. In a post 9-11 world, many communities feel alienated from the rest of American society which prevents them from effectively accessing social services, dealing with concerns that may arise in children’s schooling, or even receiving medical treatment. Our staff will serve as a bridge between these underserved populations and already existing county and nonprofit social services for residents that could otherwise not access this assistance.
